RUVEN STETTLER

In his practice, he reflects on over saturation. His initial position is the real-life that he transforms into fictive worlds where images become reanimated, where they find a new life in movement. The viewer is an observer but also a participant, a link between the title and the living work. Stettler’s work extends over different media (sculptures, video games, (sound) installations and video works), whilst always connecting to the core of his artistic practice - painting. He works intuitively, with a wide range of materials and deals with painting as an experiment. A mixture of pop culture references, coincidences and many layers leads to his individual way of expression. While working on the paintings, time and layers play an important role.

At Clinique La Prairie, Ruven Stettler has created a series of artworks on paper that are inspired by the values of Clinique La Prairie - health, longevity, and beauty. Stettler's use of colours and his attention to the smallest details convey a sense of harmony and balance that is both soothing and captivating. His interpretation of what beauty is inspired also by trees, nature, and Japanese gardens, which is reflected in the delicate lines and intricate details of his works. This series of works encourages viewers to connect with the natural world and to contemplate on what is beauty in its authentic sense.
