The Longevity Fund by Clinique La Prairie announces the appointment of Max Gottschalk as Partner to further accelerate its development.
The Longevity Fund is pleased to welcome Max Gottschalk as a Partner on its management team. He brings more than 30 years of experience in venture capital and private equity. Over his career, he has co-founded and scaled several leading investment platforms, including Ocean 14 Capital, an ocean impact private equity fund, and Hycap, an energy transition-focused private equity fund. He co-founded Gottex Fund Management in 1998, building it into an alternative investment platform before taking the company public on the Swiss Stock Exchange in 2007. He subsequently founded Vedra Partners, a global multi-family office investing across asset classes.
Prof. Stefan Catsicas and Simone Gibertoni, Co-Chairs of the Investment Committee, commented:
“Max Gottschalk’s exceptional expertise in building institutional investment platforms, combined with his passion for long-term value, makes him an outstanding addition to our leadership team. His appointment not only strengthens our capacity to attract visionary investors but also draws on his valuable perspective in guiding the Fund’s resources towards attractive investment opportunities.”
Max Gottschalk said: “I am delighted to join Clinique La Prairie’s Longevity Fund at such a pivotal moment. Longevity is one of the most compelling investment themes of our time, combining scientific progress with benefits for people's lives. I look forward to working with the team and contributing to its next chapter.”
Why Now? A Global Longevity Outlook by the Longevity Fund
The Longevity economy is expanding rapidly. The over-65 demographic is set to grow by hundreds of millions, and this shift is moving longevity care from a niche into a mainstream growth market. The global wellness economy is already valued at around $5–6 trillion, with the Longevity segment alone projected to reach $610 billion by 2025 (*).
Co-Chairs Simone Gibertoni and Prof. Stefan Catsicas emphasize that this growth marks a new era for longevity science, as a whole suite of innovations is maturing that can dramatically enhance patient outcomes. Two examples are advanced diagnostics and data-driven personalization through AI. These tools allow to examine biological makeup and the aging process in unprecedented detail. Looking ahead, innovations in multi-omics (such as microbiome analysis, proteomics, etc.) and the AI algorithms that interpret them are true game-changers. New tools—from predictive analytics and wearable monitoring to data-driven personalization—are evolving rapidly, offering individuals tailored health guidance in real time and enabling earlier and more precise interventions. Just to take two other areas, brain health—a major priority—is seeing the rise of new approaches and solutions, while regenerative therapies—from senolytics to gene-based approaches—are expected to progress toward broader adoption. Looking toward 2030, the longevity field is likely to see new breakthroughs such as epigenetic reprogramming, organ-on-a-chip testing, AI-guided therapeutics, and new approaches to nutrition that will make preventive care more adaptive and effective.
This burst is shaping a global conversation and creating new opportunities, with a twofold impact: driving economic growth and extending the healthspan of populations worldwide.
The Longevity Fund continues its fundraising phase
The Fund continues its fundraising phase, welcoming commitments from investors aligned with its vision of extending human healthspan by backing pioneering companies with scientific depth and measurable impact across biotechnology and preventive health in the four dimensions of Medical, Nutrition, Wellbeing, and Movement. The investment strategy’s drive is to bridge the gap between groundbreaking longevity technologies and their practical real-world applications.
The Longevity Fund by Clinique La Prairie, launched on April 1, 2025, is structured as a sub-fund of the EFG Alternative Investment SICAV-RAIF (Luxembourg), with a target size of EUR 300 million across three closings. With an investment period of 4–5 years and a fund term of 7 years plus a 3-year extension, the Fund is designed to deploy capital globally into targeted ventures, supported by robust governance and a disciplined, long-term investment strategy. It operates with Lonvaeon Life Science S.A. serving as Investment Advisor, Funds Avenue S.A. as AIFM, and European Financial Group as Administrator.
Clinique La Prairie co-founded the Fund as a natural extension of its vision, sending a renewed signal that innovations truly matter for healthy aging. Through its unique ecosystem—spanning the Swiss Montreux clinic, Longevity Hubs, and exclusive Health Resorts worldwide—Clinique La Prairie has long pioneered health and lifespan solutions. The Longevity Fund reinforces this commitment, reflecting the company’s dedication to transforming lives, while taking another step forward by bridging science and practice.
